You're about to hand a few hundred dollars to a prop firm because of what we write here. So you deserve to know how we work, what we actually check, and what we refuse to do. No corporate charter: the real method, limits included.
What we check before rating a firm
Everything starts from the firm's own documents, not from aggregator pages that copy outdated terms. We read, in this order:
- Targets and phases: how many phases, what percentage you have to hit, how many minimum trading days before you can request the funded account.
- Drawdown: static, end of day (EOD) or trailing. This is the line that knocks out the most traders, and the one comparison sites skim over. A trailing drawdown that follows open positions doesn't play like a static one.
- The daily loss limit and how it's calculated. Some firms count the day on server time, others at midnight in your own timezone.
- Consistency rules and anti-scalping clauses, usually buried in a tab of the terms nobody opens.
- Extra fees: account activation, reset, platform change. The big number on the landing page is almost never what you end up paying.
- Payouts: advertised delay, available methods, the real split against the marketing split, and what resets once you withdraw.
- Platforms: MT4, MT5, cTrader, TradingView, in house platform. A firm that forces its own platform changes your habits for real.
- Excluded countries, so we don't send you to a challenge you can't even buy from home.
How we actually test
When we have partner access, we open the portal and note the offers plan by plan. That's how we documented FundedNext's SAVEPRICE code: the discount is not one flat percentage, it moves with the account size and the model, from about 7% on most sizes to 50% on some $50,000 plans. A blog claiming "50% off everything" is making it up, and you can verify that in three clicks inside the checkout.
On promo codes we always cross-check what the coupon sites claim. At one point on FundedNext, Coupert said 55%, HotDeals said 50% and Techjury said 30% for the same firm. Three numbers, three sources, only one can be right. We settle it with the partner portal, not with the most flattering figure.
For payouts we read the proof the firm publishes, cross it with trader reports and look at the date. A 2023 payout shown in 2026 proves nothing. And when a firm refuses a withdrawal on a contract clause, we write it down, even when that firm pays us a commission.
Customer reviews get read with gloves on. Fake review campaigns run both ways in this market. A firm sitting at 4.8/5 on three detailed reviews is not better than one at 3.5/5 with 300 argued complaints. We look at volume, dates, and whether the complaints are consistent with each other.
Our limits, said straight
We don't buy a challenge at every firm on the market. That would be financially silly, and nobody really does it. Direct consequence: when we haven't tested an actor, it doesn't enter the ranking. Bulenox is the clearest example. We have the partner page and the codes, the firm still isn't rated.
Numbers move fast. A target, a price, a drawdown rule can change with no announcement at all. Every promo code page carries its verification date, and every article carries its update date. If you read a number with no date on this site, treat it as a lead to check, not as a fact.
And we remain a comparison site, not a financial advisory firm. Nothing here replaces your own read of the contract you sign.
What we refuse to do
- Invent an overall score to look pretty. No fake aggregate rating in our structured data, even though it would flatter search results.
- Sell a spot in the ranking. The order depends on the terms, not on the size of the commission.
- Publish an unverified number on a target or a payout. When in doubt we stay general and we say so.
- Fake a promo code just to fill a page. Our FTMO and The5ers pages state plainly that there is no active code, then explain how to save money anyway.
How the site makes money
Some links to firms are affiliate links: if you open an account after clicking through them, we earn a commission, at no extra cost to you. Those links are marked sponsored nofollow in the page code.
What doesn't change: the rating, the ranking order and the reservations written inside the reviews. FTMO and The5ers sit at the top of the ranking while we have no code to sell for them. A firm that pays us can also stay out of the ranking for lack of a real test.
Corrections and updates
A rule that changed, a dead code, a refused payout worth documenting? Tell us. We check, we fix it and we date the fix. A review site that never gets anything wrong is a site that checks nothing.
Last review of this page: 20 October 2026. Promo code pages and reviews carry their own verification date, more recent when there's news.
